dscf0005.JPGLeft: Two annuals that work well together from summer right into fall are the dark purple salvia and pale yellow nicotiana. Just a few plants can fill in a substantial space and give you great autumn colour.

dscf0010-1.JPGRight: A common sight in many an autumn garden but no less delightful as August gives way to September is the bright yellow rudbeckia ‘Goldsturm’ in from of the dusty pink sedum ‘Autumn Joy’.

dscf0031.JPGLeft: Another spash of colour is added when the fall aster comes into bloom bring the bright violet contrast to the dark pink annual cosmos that has been performing all summer. Here it has more of the sedum ‘Autumn Joy’ in the background.

dscf0015-1.JPGRight: Containers can continue to play a major role in the garden. In this case summer annuals have been replaced with two varieties of kale which continues to work well with the begonia - a houseplant that will come indoors before frost.
