Barbara’s Hypertufa
Barbara Wilson is a member of Westport in Bloom and has been making hypertufa containers for some time now.
Hypertufa containers are very light and will endure being left out over winter - just tip them up a bit for drainage in spring. Because they are so porous they allow for air circulation around the roots and root rot is not a problem.
These versatile containers will hold any kind of plant but are most commonly used for herbs and succulents (as pictured above). But just about any kind of small plant will do very well in a hypertufa container:
