On-site Consultations
Whether you are planning your garden, looking to solve problems or make changes, I am happy to provide on-site consultations and coaching to help you make the most of your garden.
Concept & Design: Sometimes what’s needed most is someone to help you come up with an overall concept or design for your property - where to build the beds, how to create special garden spaces and focal points, etc. One of the approaches I use with clients is to take digital photographs of their space, print those out in draft form and then sketch the garden concept on the photo. I find that this helps people visualize what could be done and how it will really look.
Problem Solving & Making Changes: No garden is without its problems (believe me, no garden!) and I have yet to meet a gardener who isn’t planning on making some change or other just about every year. If you’d like some help with solving your garden problem or making changes to layouts or plantings I’d be happy to work with you.
Tours of Demonstration Gardens: The best way to get new ideas is to see them in place elsewhere, especially in locations that are similar to your own with respect to temperature, soil, wind etc. Through my contacts with other gardeners, our garden tours, and with my own garden I’m able to provide you with the opportunity to visit other gardens for new ideas.
Garden Maintenance: While I don’t offer a garden maintenance service (it’s enough to keep my own garden in shape!) I can put you in touch with some very reliable people who can help you with your planting, transplanting, weeding and lawn maintenance.
Fees:
- $ 20 per hour
- free telephone and email support
Please note that I am not a landscape architect, horticulturalist or even a “Master Gardener”. I’m just someone who has done a lot of research and planning for my own gardens and for those of friends, and I’m happy to share what I’ve learned with others.
